Winston Smith is the most important character in the book. The whole book centers around him.
Winston works in the ministry of truth falsifying records and editing speeches.
Julia
Julia was Winston's girlfriend for part of the book. She works in the fiction department in the ministry of love.
O'Brian
O'Brien is a inner party member that Winston looked up to the whole book. Winston thought for a good portion of time that O'Brien lead a secret society against Big Brother. Though O'Brien is the one that leads his interrogations and tortures.
