1984 by George Orwell
1984 is about a futuristic society where Big Brother is always watching, whether via Telescreen or Thought Police its always for your "Protection". Records are constanly being rewritten so that BB is right. Changing things from who they're at war with and who they're allied with, to saying production is up when yesterday it was down. The party will vaporize people (make any trace or reord of them disappear) if they think they're a threat.
